Transportation of gantries 35 m
Transportation of travelling cranes has become a commonplace for SWTrans Company, and we once again reached the new summit. So on New Year’s Eve the delivery of longitudinal girders of travelling cranes nearly 35 m each has been completed. A simple transportation route Kaliningrad – Sochi, when we consider it in detail, acquires a multi-modal transportation status. From the department of the factory PC “Baltkran” on our special transport the cargo was delivered to the port of Baltiisk, and on linear ferry connections without additional overloads arrived at the port of Ust-Luga. The further movement to the destination of the site of the power plant in Adler (a subsidiary of PC “Mosenergo") was supposed to continue only on special SWTrans’s transport, but nature has made its adjustments to the logistical schemes of delivery. As the loaded trailers escorted by traffic patrol cars were moving in the Rostov region, we came to know the news of the disaster in the Krasnodar region. The traffic on the only possible road was blocked for freight transport, nothing to say about trailers for transportation of oversized and heavy cargoes. There was no any information about the date of the opening of the road. In the complicated circumstances, it was decided to change the means of transport and to transfer the cargoes from road to rail. Professional approach to the business of our employees helped as soon as possible to agree on a new plan of transportation of longitudinal girders of travelling cranes on the rail transporters on the route Hotunok Station - North-Caucasian railway, Rostov region - art. Cheerful NCRW, Krasnodar region, Sochi-Adler. The railway part of the route can be regarded as absolutely unique logistic decision, when we are speaking about the passage of cargoes through the long tunnel complex Sochi-Adler (we mean the technical refutation of the Order № 233 of 01.10.2010 "On the order of passage of bulky cargoes”) . The calculations were confirmed in practice: rail transporters with longitudinal girders arrived safely at the station Veseloe, and then on special vehicles of SWTrans were delivered to the site of the power plant in Adler.
